Store your organic lettuce in the refrigerator crisper drawer. For maximum freshness, keep the leaves dry and place the lettuce in a container or reusable produce bag with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Replace the paper towel if it becomes damp.
When stored correctly, fresh organic lettuce can stay crisp for around 1–3 weeks, depending on the variety and how freshly harvested it is. Whole lettuce heads generally keep considerably longer than separated or pre-cut leaves.
If your fresh lettuce begins to wilt, soak the leaves in ice-cold water for 10–20 minutes to help restore their crispness. For the longest storage life, keep lettuce away from ethylene-producing fruits such as apples, bananas and avocados, which can cause leafy greens to deteriorate faster.
