Onions - Brown

Store your organic brown onions whole and unpeeled in a cool, dark, dry and well-ventilated place. A pantry, cupboard or ventilated basket works well. Avoid sealed plastic bags, as trapped moisture can encourage mould and sprouting.

When stored correctly, fresh brown onions can keep for 1–3 months or longer, depending on how well cured and fresh they are. Keep onions away from potatoes, as storing the two together can cause both to deteriorate faster.

Once cut, store your organic onion in a sealed container in the refrigerator and use it within several days. For long-term storage, brown onions can be chopped or sliced and frozen for several months, ready for curries, soups, sauces, stir-fries and other cooked dishes.
